Type-316

  • It is virtually non-magnetic in the annealed condition.
  • Applications for which T – 316 wire mesh are used in pharmaceuticals, aerospace, chemical processing, marine equipment, rubber & plastic industry, other general industrial use.
  • T-316 is an “18-8” alloy and is stabilized by 2% addition of molybdenum. It has good corrosion resistance strength than the other chromium-nickel stainless steels as it has more sulphur-bearing water, brines or halogen salts like chlorides present in it. The other characteristics of Type 316 are similar to T-304 but the only valuable and distinguishing feature of T- 316 is its creep strength at rising temperatures.
